- 4 cups water
2-3 tablespoons barley
1/4 cup raw cane sugar
- Bring the barley and water to boil in a medium sized pot, allow to boil for around 15 minutes.
- Take the boiled barley off the heat and puree with either an immersion blender or regular blender.
- Stir in the sugar until dissolved.
- Allow to cool slightly before transferring to a container. Refrigerate.
(You can also add the juice of 1 lemon and make lemon-barley water, which is pretty tasty.)
Adding 100 grams fresh ginger while boiling the barley also gives it a unique and refreshing taste!
